Anders Fogelin (1933 - 1982) was a Swedish painter known for a vivid, modernist approach to palette. Working primarily in oil, watercolor, and graphic print mediums like lithography and screenprinting, his work centers on expressive, semi-abstract compositions, dynamic cityscapes, and vibrant landscapes. Heavily influenced by Mid-Century Scandinavian modernism, Fogelin often simplified forms down to their geometric and structural essentials. His work utilizes overlapping shapes, structured lines, and blocky textures that frequently hint at Bauhaus and Cubist movements. His aesthetic balances a distinct post-war graphic sensibility with a bold, free-flowing exploration of tone and light. His work is held in the permanent collections of multiple Swedish Museums, including the Moderna Museet, the National Museum, and Kalmar Kunstmuseum, among others.
